Tools can get quite expensive. That’s where October Prime Day comes in. Right now, Amazon has plenty of essential tools on sale at up to 34% off. Suddenly, these pricey tools are a much more reasonable purchase decision. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite sales I’ve seen so far on tools that will improve your work, make projects easier, and make you more comfortable—at significant discounts.
The Work IQ Tools Articulating Bench Vise is 20% off
A vise is a very useful tool on any workbench, but most vises are pretty limited, locking things down into a single position. An articulating vise like this one from Work IQ Tools lets you lock things down at any angle, making it a lot easier. It’s normally almost $300, a price point that inspires creativity with the vise you already have. Luckily, it’s 20% off for Prime Day, which takes the sting out of the purchase a bit.
This shoe dryer from Airthereal is 30% off
Silly? Unnecessary? That’s what someone who has never spent a rainy afternoon getting their work shoes soaked in mud, rain, or snow would say. At full price, they might be right, but at a 30% discount, this boot dryer is much more reasonable. This dryer can dry your footwear overnight, without damaging leather or other materials. If you’ve ever pulled still-damp boots on for Day Two of a project, you know the value of dry shoes.
This transfer punch set is 15%
The dividing line between green DIYers and grizzled, battle-tested DIYers is how they mark drilling points on their projects. Newbies will hold the bracket or ruler up against the wall and scribble with a pen to approximately mark the spot. Veterans will whip out a transfer punch and get a dead-center mark that guarantees they drill into the right spot, with finished work that looks neat as a pin. With this transfer punch set 15% off for Prime Day, there are no more excuses for sloppy work.
These panel carriers will save your back at 15% off
Carrying sheets of plywood or drywall with your bare hands is an awkward and exhausting chore. Panel carriers are simple clamps that allow you to carry sheets of materials easily, without straining your back, blocking your field of vision, or using both hands (leaving one hand free to open doors or clear obstacles). Right now, you can pick up these panel carriers from Goldblatt at 15% off.
These Fanttik power scissors are 33% off
If you’ve ever had a lot of cutting to do, or needed to cut through something thicker than paper on a regular basis, you know how wearying manual scissors can be—a problem easily solved by power scissors, like this rechargeable model from Fanttik. It’ll slice through a wide range of materials, like cardboard, thick fabrics, rugs, and rug pads, making these typically tough jobs much easier. Right now, you can save 33%, bringing the price from $89.99 down to $59.99.
These saw horses are 33% off
Don’t risk life and limb by sawing and working on wobbly, piled-up boxes, or whatever else you have lying around. A set of stable, durable saw horses like these from Bora—now 33% off for Prime Day—are game-changers. Suddenly, you’re not praying that your cobbled-together sawing station stays up in the middle of a cut, and the saw horses fold up and tuck away easily when not in use.
This Wolfbox air duster is 34% off
Experienced DIYers know that being able to quickly and efficiently blow out tight spaces and delicate components (as well as inflate things with the touch of a button) is worth the price of admission. If you’re waffling on spending money on one, this excellent model from Wolfbox is 34% off right now, bringing the price down to $59.83.
The Little Giant Velocity Multi-Position Ladder is 15% off
Weighing the cost of a high-quality multi-position ladder that can be folded into a variety of useful (and stable) configurations is understandable, but during October Prime Day, those costs aren’t so high. The Little Giant Velocity is a great ladder that will make your projects easier and safer, and it’s 15% off right now, bringing the price down to $236.29.
The Vanquish 14oz titanium hammer is 20% off
Ordinary steel hammers are miserable to use on a regular basis. Titanium hammers, on the other hand, are lighter and more comfortable to use without sacrificing force, but they’re also pricey, so seeing this excellent 14 oz model from Vanquish at 20% off is kind of exciting. Right now, you’ll spend $68.79 on this hammer.
This cordless miter saw from DeWalt is 27% off
Miter cuts are the bane of many DIYers’ existence, but a high-quality miter saw can make them a lot easier, speeding up trim and molding jobs and making framing projects much easier, too. But they’re expensive, and if you don’t often need one, you might hesitate. However, if you’re considering one, now might be the time to buy. This terrific cordless model from DeWalt is nearly 30% off. It’s still pricey at $379.99, but that’s far more appealing than its typical $519 price tag.
