Amazon has the Tapo RV50 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop is on sale for $499.99, down from its list price of $599.99 (and price-trackers show this is the lowest price it has reached) At this price, you’re getting a setup designed to take some of the routine work out of vacuuming and mopping, starting with the Omni dock. After each cleaning run, the dock can empty the dustbin, wash the mop pads, dry them, dispense detergent, and keep the robot supplied with clean water. Amazon also includes a spare dust bag and a bottle of hard-floor cleaning solution in the box, so you have some supplies on hand before you need to restock.
When it comes to everyday messes, the RV50 Pro Omni has enough cleaning power to handle everything from pet hair to the occasional dried-on spill—it can reach up to 15,000Pa of suction, and its cutting brush is designed to deal with wrapped hair, which could be especially useful if you have pets or long hair that tends to wind around the roller. Plus, its two mop pads spin at 180 RPM and stay damp as the robot moves around, giving it a better chance of picking up things like a dried coffee drip or a sticky spot by the stove. It can also mop farther along baseboards and into corners, while LiDAR mapping and dual-laser obstacle avoidance help it find its way around furniture and everyday clutter like shoes. That said, Tapo recommends hardwood as the preferred surface, and while the RV50 Pro Omni can detect carpet, it has to return to the dock to detach its mops before cleaning rugs, which can mean extra trips in a home with a lot of carpeting. For a household with mostly hard floors, pets, and little patience for emptying bins or rinsing mop pads, this price makes it a reasonable fit, but anyone with wall-to-wall carpet would be better served by a simpler vacuum-only model.
