Eufy’s Essential 7-Piece Alarm System is down to $269.98 at Amazon from $399.99, a $130 discount that price trackers say is its lowest price ever. The kit includes a HomeBase Mini hub with 64GB of built-in storage, a keypad, four entry sensors, and a motion sensor. That’s enough to cover the front and back doors, a couple of ground-floor windows, and a main hallway in an apartment or smaller house. It also doesn’t require a subscription, so once you’ve paid for the system, you won’t have to worry about ongoing monthly fees.
With the sensors in place, you’ll get an instant notification through the free Eufy app whenever someone opens a protected door or window, while the motion sensor can detect movement in areas like a living room or hallway. Not everyone in the household needs the app to use the system, though, since the included keypad lets family members or a house sitter arm and disarm it right at the door. Everything connects back to the HomeBase Mini, which serves as the central hub with built-in storage that keeps everything stored locally.
Setting up the system takes minutes, as the battery-powered sensors require no wiring and the app guides you through each step once the HomeBase is plugged in. That said, you will need to replace the sensor batteries periodically, and a larger home with several entrances may require more than the four entry sensors and one motion sensor included in the kit—you can add more Eufy sensors and accessories as needed, but each comes at an extra cost. And if you want to see what triggered an alert, you’ll have to purchase compatible cameras separately, since no cameras are included in the package.
