LG smart TVs will soon be the new place where you can order food

Your next food order could come from the same screen you use to watch your favorite shows. SoundHound AI is partnering with LG Electronics to bring restaurant ordering to LG Smart TVs across the US. The rollout is expected to begin in December and reach approximately 20 million TVs.

How will ordering food from your LG TV work?

If you own an LG TV, you will be able to browse a restaurant’s menu, pick your items, and pay for everything right from your TV screen. A picture-in-picture view will keep your show or game playing while you place your order, so you won’t have to miss a beat of the action.

For restaurants, this means a fresh way to reach hungry customers during peak dinner and viewing hours, all without buying new hardware. The system plugs directly into the point of sale (POS) and kitchen systems restaurants already use. It will also handle transaction routing and secure checkout.

Which restaurants will join, and what comes next?

The first participating restaurant brands are expected to be announced toward the end of 2026. SoundHound already powers AI food orders from brands such as Jersey Mike’s, Five Guys, and White Castle.

The company currently works with more than 15,000 restaurant locations across the US. Restaurants are first in line through this partnership, though SoundHound and LG also intend to bring retail and other merchant categories to the platform over time.
