ASUS has announced a new trio of ROG Strix OLED gaming monitors, aiming to bring high-refresh-rate OLED panels to a broader audience of gamers. The lineup includes the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2, XG27ACDMS, and XG27AQDMES, all of which feature 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) OLED displays designed for competitive gaming and immersive visuals.
All three models target gamers who want the fast response and deep contrast of OLED displays without paying flagship monitor prices. ASUS says the displays combine fast refresh rates, extremely low response times, and new burn-in protection features, helping make OLED monitors more practical for everyday gaming setups.
Why is ASUS focusing on high refresh OLED monitors?
The main draw of the new lineup is performance. The XG27AQDMG Gen 2 and XG27AQDMES both offer 240Hz refresh rates, while the XG27ACDMS pushes that even further to 280Hz. Combined with OLED’s near-instant 0.03ms response time, ASUS says the displays are built for competitive gaming, where motion clarity and responsiveness matter most.
The panels also feature ASUS’s OLED Care Pro suite of protective features, as we saw on the PG27UCDM. This includes a Neo Proximity Sensor designed to reduce the risk of burn-in by automatically managing panel behavior when the user isn’t present.
What makes these monitors more accessible than typical OLED displays?
One of the most notable aspects of the launch is pricing. The new ROG Strix OLED monitors start at $599, which is significantly lower than many earlier OLED gaming displays that often launched closer to the $1,000 mark. Despite the lower entry price, the monitors still offer flagship-grade specs, including QHD resolution, high refresh rates, HDR support, and OLED’s signature deep blacks and contrast.
The move also reflects a broader trend in the monitor market. As OLED panel production increases, manufacturers are increasingly pushing the technology into more mainstream price brackets, making high-end gaming displays more accessible than before.
