Prime Day 2025 is here from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools.

If Apple’s Pro Max iPhones are a bit too small for your liking, but the standard iPad is a bit too large, the iPad mini is just about the perfect product for you. It has an 8.3-inch display, weighs just over half a pound, and is only a quarter inch thick. And yet, despite its size, it supports the Apple Pencil, runs on an A17 Bionic chip, and has a solid camera. It’s a unique product, and something I’ve been eyeing for a long time.

Why haven’t I bought one? Well, I already have both an iPhone and an iPad, and it’s tough to justify a $500 iPad purchase when you already own one of Apple’s tablets. Perhaps Prime Day will sway me, however, as Amazon is currently taking $120 off all versions of the mini.

That’s great news, because the base model mini only comes with 128GB of storage. If that’s enough for you, great: You can take off with a $379 tablet. But if you feel you’ll need more, you have to pay for it up front, and the price increases pretty quickly. Luckily, that $120 discount applies to all models. The 256GB version, which is usually $599, is $479. The 512GB was $799, but is now $679. The same applies to the more expensive cellular models, if you want an iPad you can connect to a cellular plan.

The mini is just a fun product. It’s a full iPad, in just about the smallest package possible. If it were any tinier, it’d be an iPhone, and Samsung would accuse Apple of copying the Galaxy Ultra series. If you’ve been thinking about buying one, Prime Day really is the time to pull the trigger.
