For a budget set, the U6 Pro gets a lot right when it comes to picture quality—its high peak brightness helps it hold up during a sunny afternoon in a living room with big windows, so a daytime football game or cooking show won’t look washed out, while its excellent contrast and effective local dimming keep dark scenes looking deep when you settle in for a movie at night. It also does a good job cleaning up lower-quality content, which is useful for older cable broadcasts or compressed YouTube videos—and its Fire TV interface makes it easy to jump between those kinds of content and the major streaming services without needing a separate streaming device.
The U6 Pro also brings plenty to the table for gaming, with HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, and a 144Hz refresh rate that PC gamers can push to 240Hz at a lower 1080p resolution.
