Logitech G has launched the RS H-Shifter, a 7-speed manual shifter designed for sim racers who want their setup to deliver a real car driving experience. It’s available starting today for $159.99.
If you’ve ever driven a manual car, you know there’s something deeply satisfying about shifting through the gears yourself. The RS H-Shifter is built around that feeling, and the company says that it has gone to great lengths to ensure that every shift feels deliberate and tactile.
Does it actually simulate real driving?
Logitech states that its custom 7-speed mechanism delivers precise engagement, ensuring every shift closely mirrors that of a real car. It’s not only precise, but it’s also durable. The RS H-Shifter is constructed from aluminum, steel, and high-strength plastic, and is engineered to withstand high-intensity, extended gaming sessions.
Like modern premium controllers, the RS H-Shifter features Hall Effect contactless sensors, which rely on magnetic field detection instead of physical contact. That means no mechanical wear over time and no degraded shifts after thousands of hours of use.
There’s also a push-through lockout for reverse and 7th gear, borrowed from real-world transmissions, so you won’t accidentally smash into the wrong gear during a high-pressure lap.
Will it work with your current setup?
Most likely, yes. The RS H-Shifter plugs directly into Logitech’s RS50 or PRO Wheels with no adapters needed. Console racers on PS5, PS4, and Xbox can connect via the Logitech G Racing Adapter.
PC users can also connect it directly via USB, making it compatible even with non-Logitech rigs. It will work with both professional sim rigs and desk setups, making it compatible with almost all existing gaming setups.
You can also customize the gear knob or add shaft extenders to dial in the perfect ergonomics for your setup. The RS H-Shifter is available now at LogitechG.com and authorized retailers. If you are into racing games, you should definitely check it out.
