Motorola’s new earbuds pack Bose sound and AI smarts

Motorola dropped two new earbuds at MWC 2026, and the company is betting big on two things: better sound and smarter software. The moto buds 2 plus and moto buds 2 land with Bose tuning on the premium model and AI tools on both, all starting at €79 or $92.70.

The Bose partnership matters here. The pricier moto buds 2 plus get professional audio tuning usually found in more expensive gear. But both pairs pack features you do not always see at these prices, like meeting transcriptions, notification summaries and multipoint connectivity.

What Bose brings to the table

Inside the plus model, you get an 11mm driver for bass and a Knowles balanced armature for cleaner highs. Bose tuned the whole thing, so music, movies and calls should sound balanced across the board. The buds also support Hi-Res Audio with LHDC for wireless streaming without the usual compression. Spatial Audio is here too, though you will need a compatible Motorola phone and Dolby Atmos content to use it.

Six microphones handle noise cancellation on calls. If you find yourself in a loud spot, you can flip on CrystalTalk AI in the companion app for extra voice clarity.

The AI tricks worth knowing

Hold and press the buds and things get useful. On compatible Motorola phones, the plus model taps into moto ai directly. Catch me up reads your latest notifications aloud. Pay attention records meetings and spits out a summary. Remember this lets you recall specific details just by asking.

The standard moto buds 2 get some of these features too. Both pairs support Dual Connection, so you can stay linked to your laptop and phone at once and switch between them without reconnecting. The base model also gets Gaming Mode in the app, which cuts audio lag. The plus model adds Wear Detection, so your music pauses when you pull out a bud.

When you can buy them

Both models roll out in the coming weeks across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. The moto buds 2 plus start at €149 in Pantone Cool White or Pantone Silhouette. The moto buds 2 start at €79 or $92.70 in Pantone Carbon, Violet Ice and Gray Mist. US pricing and launch dates are still under wraps.
